1. What are your thoughts on texting in social situations?

It all depends on the situation. If it's urgent, then I believe it is fine to text during a social situation. While during a dinner party, presentation, lesson, then no. Texting in these situations is an obvious no. I believe when meeting someone for the first time requires the work of both people so if you are texting me when I have just met you it will come off as 'I don't want to be friends with you, let alone talk to you'.

2. Do you find it rude if you’re talking to somebody and they proceed to text continuously on their cell phone?

Once again it all depends on the situation. If you've been expecting a text for awhile now then it's fine or if it's an urgent text then go right ahead and text! But if it's not urgent or it's not going to help improve anything then please leave and do not continue to converse with me. I find it incredibly awkward if I'm trying to have a conversation with you but you are texting. It's like, did you want to talk to me or did you want me to watch you text?

3.If you had to come up with a list of five etiquette rules for texting, what would they be?

1. Don't text if I just met you. As I said before, it comes off as though you don't want to be friends

2. One worded, one letter text, or a smiley face replies are a NO. If I texted you a paragraph of my inner feelings, I would appreciate it if you took some time and actually replied back to me.

3. Do not use leet language. Unless you're doing it as a joke, don't ever text in leet language.

4. Turn off your auto correct. Those create the most awkward situations when it auto corrects to the wrong word!

5. Don't take all texts too seriously. You can't hear the sarcasm behind all texts so don't find everything so seriously but don't take things too lightly either!
